About Sunny Dayz Villa : PV514, Gumuskaya, Yalikavak, Bodrum

Summary: Beautifully styled, luxury finished holiday villa with private pool and OUTSTANDING sea views
3 Bedrooms : 3 Bathrooms : Sleeps 6
Sunny Dayz holiday villa has rivalled its big 'sister' (Lazy Dayz) in terms of views and presentation since we launched it for rent in Summer 2014. At Sunny, the emphasis is on outside summer living hence it is furnished and designed with this in mind.

Sunny is a luxury finished detached 3 bedroom villa with 3 en-suite shower rooms. The views over the Aegean to the islands of Turkey and further afield Greek Islands are spectacular and some of the best views in the area - all rooms have sea views, with the balcony and garden providing 'best seats' for magnificent sunsets, probably the best pool side seats for sunsets in the Bodrum Peninsula! Originally built in 2009 and then completely re-finished by an English designer, the villa is now owned by a US based couple who have added their own mark to the interior/exterior furnishings so it compares to Lazy Dayz, their other Yalikavak holiday rental villa. High quality materials such as granite, marble and travertine have been used to finish off the interior. Sunny has superb outside living areas too with a large covered outside 'lounge'/pergola complete with sofa, chairs and coffee table, a perfect spot for BBQ dinners or a sundowner. For dining with a view, the covered dining terrace at first floor level has a glass topped rattan dining table and chairs which overlooks the fabulous views of the Aegean sea and the Greek islands in the distance.

Ground Floor: Entrance hall, utility area, Bedrooms 2 and 3 which both have luxury en-suite shower rooms. Bedroom 2 has a double bed and access to the gardens and pool. Bedroom 3 has twin beds and en-suite walk-in shower room. Stairs lead up to first floor, living level

First Floor: Open plan lounge and fully fitted and equipped kitchen with granite work surfaces and breakfast bar, hallway and master bedroom with en-suite. Views are incredible. There is also a covered dining balcony off the hallway for al-fresco dining with a view. All rooms have A/C and VIEWS!

Location: Gumuskaya area of Yalikavak, between Yalikavak and Gumusluk, Bodrum Peninsula. 9km from Palmarina, Yalikavak
Located on a hillside in the Gumuskaya area of Yalikavak, Sunny has absolutley unobstructed views over the Aegean sea and Greek Islands beyond.
A short 10 minute or so drive takes you to the centre of Yalikavak with its smart and impressive marina (Palmarina), shops, restaurants, beach club, bars. A short walk from the marina takes you to the buzzy restaurant lined old harbour and centre of Yalikavak old town which has retained its traditional Turkish feel and charm. A mix everyone should experience,

Exterior: Stunning Sea Views, Private Pool and Private Gardens
Sunny has been designed for outside living and has much larger than average view-facing gardens. Lots of space and privacy here as the private pool has been cleverly positioned to the side of the villa which means the villa's side wall shields part of the pool area from any neigbouring property - this is particularly popular with guests who require a degree of privacy around the pool area. A wooden deck area to one side and travertine tiled terrace around the pool edge provides plenty of space for sun loungers.

Sunny has a BBQ and dining table/chairs at ground floor level as well as the upper level dining area - not just two dining areas, don't forget about the shaded purpose built dining/seating pergola to the side of the garden. A great place to chill out and watch the spectacular sunsets. Most of the garden is lawned and boundaries completely fenced with glass panels to ensure views are maximised. There is no neigbouring property to the right, or in front of the villa.

The Turkish Aegean Coast Region

On the Bodrum Peninsula buildings are not permitted to be built more than 2 stories high, and there are no buildings higher than 3 stories in the whole Peninsula. This tends to make the area look particularly attractive. Most of the buildings are white washed cubes, similar to those in the Greek Islands. This is because this part of Turkey used to belong to Greece and some of the Greek Islands used to belong to Turkey. As you can imagine, there is a lot of history around the area.

History
Archaeological excavations have established that human habitation in the Yalikavak area began in around 2000BC, and there are ruins and artefacts from the Carian, Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman eras. The historic sites such as Sandima, Pasanda (Geris), Kandiba and Termil (Dirmil/Gökçebel) attract visitors from all over the world. Yalikavak is famous for the numerous windmills found in the vicinity. The winds, that until recently turned the vanes of these working windmills, now fill the sails of boats and windsurfs. Another “typical” feature found in abundance here are domed water cisterns which, in the past, were used in times of drought and are now being adapted for artistic and cultural uses.

A 20 minute road journey will take you to Bodrum Centre with its historic castle which was built from 1402 onwards, by the Knights of St John as the Castle of St. Peter or Petronium. The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus is also located in Bodrum town.

Ferry trips to the Greek island of Kos can be made from Turgutreis and Bodrum
Further afield you can visit Ephesus, the largest archaeological site in the world, the stunning pools at Pamukkale, the royal rock tombs at Dalyan, and the temple of Apollo at Didim.

Yalikavak
Yalikavak's town centre has retained its traditional Turkish charm. With its simple but stylish laid back atmosphere and friendly welcoming locals, this is its main attraction and the reason why holidaymakers return to the area year after year. Along the coast road en-route from the villa to Yalikavak you will pass some of the best fish restaurants on the Bodrum Peninsula huddled together in their own 'fish restaurant village' area. A couple of minutes further on takes you to Yalikavak's fashionable new Marina (Palmarina) with super yachts, gullets and sail boats visiting from all around the world. The Marina is home to smart shops, bars, restaurants and a beach club which hosts open air concerts during high summer.

The centre of Bodrum is less than 20 minutes from here with its own smart Marina, town centre shops and, of course, the famous Bodrum Castle. Bodrum town has fabulous shops in the Marina area and also along the narrow streets of the old town near the Castle. At night, the Marina has open air live music starting at 10pm until the early hours nightly during high summer.

Yalikavak has supermarkets, banks, ATMs, Taxi ranks, bus station, petrol stations etc.

A car is essential for this location.

Distances: Bodrum town is 15/20 min; Yalikavak is 10 mins drive, Gumusluk fishing village and harbour restaurants are 10/15 mins drive in the opposite direction

Turgutreis is 20/25 mins drive : Nearest supermarket, Migros at Koyunbaba, 5 mins drive

Stunning villa with stunning views| August 2018
We stayed at Sunny Days for three weeks in August 2018 and wouldn't hesitate to return. It was a light, bright, extremely clean villa furnished to a high standard and it was very well equipped. Every little detail had been thought about and it really was a home from home - comfortable and inviting. Plenty of shade should you require it, and the best view we have ever seen. Hours were spent relaxing and watching the world go by. We were looked after by Sara from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble. She was friendly, polite, and worked tirelessly to ensure our stay was the best it possibly could be. Our thanks to Annie @ Peninsula Villas Bodrum for not just satisfactory customer service, but exceptional customer service. She answered all our questions very promptly. She really did go above and beyond our expectations and we would have no hesitation in booking with Peninsular Villas in the future. Her knowledge of the area really helped us make an informed choice and we really couldn’t have been happier with our decision. Book your stay at Sunny Dayz villa - you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful villa, Beautifully decorated, very comfortable | August 2017
About Sara; She is really a very nice woman, we enjoyed meeting her. She responds our mail and messages quickly and finds solutions.

Booking process: I did not have any problem neither during the booking and nor during the check-in . Everything was easy and on -track.

House: The house itself is beatiful and it is beautifully decorated. Colors are beatiful. Airconditioning was working very well. The weather, while we were there, was extremely hot and in such weather condition, we did not have any problem while cooling the rooms and the house.
Room sizes very big enough. Kitchen was well equipped. The view of the house, especially during the sunset is really good.
We, as a family of four (two adults and two young adults) felt comfortable.

A Truly Fantastic Holiday| July/August 2016
We (Myself, my wife, and three teenagers) stayed in Sunny Dayz villa, Yalikavak late July through early August and I have to say that the villa surpassed expectations! Having arrived in the early hours of the morning (around 2AM), all around was dark; but despite the time, Sara & Peter still took the time to show us around the villa something of which we were very appreciative of. When waking the next morning and drawing the curtains for the first time, all I can say is………..’WOW!!!’ the uninterrupted views were absolutely spectacular, something of which nobody would ever tire of! The villa itself was presented perfectly, very clean, bright and airy with ample space both inside and out, the garden with the pool area, and under canopy seating made for a great space to relax and enjoy the days whilst taking in those fantastic views. Close by (a car is advised given the high up location) are local shops, bars and restaurants and a fantastic Marina to spend both days and evenings eating and drinking whilst sitting watching the yachts coming and going. All in all a truly memorable holiday was had by all, and all Thanks to Annie at Peninsula Villa Care, and Sara and Peter in Yalikavak. Highly Recommended!! Steven & Nicky

Best Views and Perfect Sunsets | July 2015
The Villa is very well equipped with good quality furnishings, both indoors and out. The outdoor area is very pleasant and has very comfortable shaded area. The room layout is well thought out and the Villa was spotless. We booked the Villa through Annie Burnett, who we have used several times, and both Annie and Sara who is her representative in Turkey did a great job. The high point is the dining balcony. The views are fantastic. Many hours were spent just relaxing and watching the super yachts go to and fro. The only thing that I would point out is that a car is more or less essential, which is mentioned in the description. Having said that, there with so many great places to visit in the area that a car is very useful.
