About Villa Manzara : PV537, Yalikavak, Bodrum peninsula
Summary: Superb detached villa with incredible open sea views to Yalikavak Marina. Villa Manzara has a private pool and multiple purpose built outside seating and dining areas.
4 Bedrooms : 4 Bathrooms + Cloakroom : Sleeps up to 8
Manzara's owners, now with grown up children, have so far used their Villa solely as a second home.
Why Manzara? ... Manzara is Turkish for view and what a view too ...
We are really excited to welcome Villa Manzara to our Villas with Private Pools portfolio. We know this Villa very well, having managed it when we lived in the area. Over the last few years, its English owners have used great imagination to extend and develop the original outside and internal areas with an emphasis on quality rather than cost. This has created a variety of fantastic living and relaxing spaces, both inside and out. Manzara will delight you with its many different areas and options for eating drinking reading relaxing, or just having a chat or some fun with friends and family. Manzara's owners are renting exclusively through peninsulavillasbodrum.com as they see themselves as custodians of this beautiful property and want to give the right kind of guests the opportunity to enjoy all that it offers, as they and their family have done for many years. What a treat is in store!
Villa Manzara is a fabulous modern, tastefully extended 4 bedroom family villa with a private pool. There are numerous outside lounging, dining and chill out areas where you can take in the far reaching and breathtaking views from the Villa's small, but very private grounds, which are on three different levels, and also from its many rooms. Guests will experience one of the best outlooks on the Bodrum Peninsula as you take in the Aegean Sea, a number of Greek and Turkish Islands, Yalikavak Bay, the exclusive Palmarina Marina with it’s Old Town and the original authentic Harbour area and boat yard all within the much loved resort of Yalikavak. All of this is against a beautiful mountainous backdrop.
There are a limited number of eating options in close proximity to the Villa, however there are many many others within a 30 minute walk if you’re feeling energetic. The area is hilly and it’s always sunny so the best access to central Yalikavak and the amazing Palmarina is a short 5 minute car or local taxi ride. You can also use the local bus/ Dolmus, which offers an efficient hourly service and stops right outside the rear of the Villas grounds, accessed from the top road above the main entrance. Turning left onto the top road a short walk downhill takes you to the main road on which a couple of restaurants are located. The main road connects, in different directions, with both Yalikavak and Gumusluk which both have very extensive eating and shopping facilities.
Villa Manzara is an ideal choice for a family holiday or for couples/groups of friends wanting to feel relaxed and at home within hours of arriving, and those who want to use it as a haven from which to explore all that the Bodrum Peninsula offers.
If you want to dine at home there's a dining table and chairs for 10, poolside, very near the purpose built BBQ area. If you prefer to dine in the shade, then the mid-level table under the covered balcony awaits. See more about the dining areas under External Options below. If you want your own quiet space, then nip around the back of the villa and settle down on the stylish curved sofa with a book..... notice the wall art opposite and don’t forget to use the external lights to illuminate it at night, and watch the colours change ,or maybe take a snooze in the 'Bus Stop' secret hideaway shelter on the level above ... Oh yes, let us not forget another interesting area - 'Maxine's Vineyard' - which is a lovely sea-facing area to the left of the villa as you look to sea which is covered in vines, colourful planting and a relaxing swing seat. Take a couple of cocktails here for a romantic setting watching the beautiful colours in the sky as the sun dips below the horizon, or maybe just take in the view ... as the Turkish say “Manzara Cok Guzel” ... translated: the view is beautiful!!
INTERNAL
Ground Floor (entrance and mid level): This living level has a cloakroom/WC, open plan lounge, interior dining with marble breakfast bar and 6 bar stools. All rooms are sea facing with mesmerising views. The stylish lounge has a TV/DVD player (connected to local freeview satellite with SOME English speaking channels). The fully fitted kitchen (huge American style fridge/freezer with filtered water and ice maker) leads to an internal dining area which in turn leads out to the spacious dining balcony. Looking from either the kitchen, seated at the marble table, or from the 8 seat places on sofa/chairs in the TV area, you look through the two large sliding French doors, onto the amazing views of the Aegean and the stunning Yalikavak Bay, into which it flows. Both of these sliding doors open to give access to the large mid-level balcony. On the left side of this balcony is a second sofa and chairs which seat 5, with tables for drinks ... and on the right side is the 8 seater outdoor dining table. This table is shaded with two open sides and a roof which is the underside of a balcony on the top level, which is directly above the mid level.
First Floor: Top Level/Master Bedroom and Bedroom 4
On the top level is the master en-suite bedroom, with a shower, wash basin and WC. The master bedroom has access to another large sea-facing balcony which has two sun loungers and a modern style sofa chairs and table and, of course most importantly, the most impressive uninterrupted panoramic views of Yalikavak Bay. Bedroom 4 adjoins the master bedroom via a connecting door, this is a new double size open plan room with wash basin and shower (this room has a 'trundle' style bed which can be a single or double bed). It also has access to the large sea-facing balcony and the added bonus of its own separate entrance and external stairs leading down to the pool or out to the car parking area. These stairs take you down past a tree covered area, where the stone table is situated, then onto the main access stairs which lead you up to the gate where you first entered the property. You can also carry on down a further flight of external stairs, giving you direct access from the top level down to the pool level without needing to pass through the mid level, or use any of the internal stairs. This second entrance is also useful for those arriving back late at night and not wanting to disturb others who may be sleeping in the bedrooms at the pool level.
Lower Ground Floor: Bedrooms 2 and 3
Internal stairs from the living area lead to Bedroom 2 (has a king size bed) and 3 (has twin single beds with a 3rd fold away singe bed which can be used by prior agreement with Peninsula Villas Bodrum). One of these bedrooms ( bedroom 2) has an en-suite shower room, WC and wash basin. The second (bedroom 3) and larger bedroom of the two, has a separate family bathroom just across the hallway with shower, wash basin and WC. Each of these bedrooms have sliding French doors leading you directly onto a shaded terrace area in front of which is the pool and pool area.
NO SMOKING is permitted inside the Villa, smoking is allowed in the outside areas and on the covered terraces.
Location: Yalikavak, Bodrum Peninsula
Just 45 minutes drive from Bodrum Milas International Airport and 5 minutes drive from Yalikavak Palmarina and town centre.
Villa Manzara is located hillside on a headland which overlooks the Aegean Sea and Yalikavak itself. Villa Manzara sits above a small, boutique development of similar properties but is 1 of only 4 detached villas with private pools. Manzara is 5 mins drive from Yalikavak and has access on foot to a small bay situated within the larger Yalikavak Bay for those wanting to swim or snorkel. There is also an attractive public beach within 2 minutes drive of the Villa from where you can swim while you watch the sun set.
Exterior: Private Pool, private gardens, open sea views with large shared infinity pool accessed via an external spiral staircase
Private pool, al fresco dining and a BBQ area to boast, but Villa Manzara offers so much more ... go see for yourselves...
You will now realise there are numerous large terraces/balconies and seating areas on all three levels, both to the rear and front of the Villa, giving guests great seating choices in either full sun or shade as well as private terraced and landscaped grounds all around with colourful planting and breathtaking sea views, from all levels.
THE 'BUS STOP' SECRET SHELTER HIDEAWAY
This secluded hideaway is an outside 'lounge' and shaded seating area within Manzara’s grounds and is the first area you see, straight ahead of you, as you come through the main external gate. Affectionately referred to as 'the Bus Stop' the three sided building is separated from the main villa and provides a private, well shaded area to sit, and of course with a great view. It has lighting making it available to use at night.
BREAKFAST GARDEN
Moving further down the main flight of steps you next come into an area shaded by Pomegranate, apple, fig and lemon trees. Within this area and close to the main entrance is a charming stone built table and chairs, which the owners use as their breakfast area, as it offers cool shade and is in close proximity to the kitchen. The kitchen is to the right as you enter the property through its main door entrance.
REAR SEATING AREA
Going straight past the main entrance door, you will find to the rear and far side of the building a raised outdoor stone paved seating area. This has a large curved sofa and matching drinks table. From this area, looking through mandarin and banana trees, and japonica bushes, is the first glimpse of the large bay which the Villa overlooks. There is a dramatic mural painted on the wall facing this area which must be seen at night when lit by the nearby garden lights. Sit and watch as the Lion changes colour!
'K LOUNGE' - chill out and sundowner 'lounge'
Walking from the rear seating area, still outside but now to the right side of the Villa, there is another sofa seating area with drinks tables, known as the 'K Lounge'. The K Lounge has an interesting feature of brightly painted poles separating it from the rear seating area behind, these provide a colourful backdrop to the open sea views of the very blue waters of the Bay. Dont forget to look down at the beautiful tiles that are framed within the flooring here to create an impressive outdoor feature. The view from here is in part seen through one of two large palm trees which are planted in small garden areas at either side of the private swimming pool below. The main external stairs to the pool level are next to K Lounge area, and on the other side of the seating area. The large terrace on the mid level at the front of the Villa can be accessed from here. The mid terrace is also accessed from the internal kitchen dining and living room area through two large full glass sliding doors.
DINING AL FRESCO
Spoilt for places to dine al fresco, you can use the large 10 seater marble table next to the purpose built barbecue area at pool level
OR dine at the mid level covered balcony which has a teak, glass covered, 8 seater table. This is very near to the kitchen and has access from inside through large sliding doors. This table is shaded with two open sides and a roof which is the underside of a terrace on the top level directly above.
You will now realise there are numerous large terraces and seating areas on all three levels, both to the rear and front of the Villa, giving guests great seating choices in either full sun or shade.
OR you can choose to dine at the 8 seater table or 4 seater outdoor stone table both near to the kitchen area
MAXINE'S VINEYARD
The surprise at mid level and to the left of the Villa as you look to sea, is the small vineyard which is accessed from the gate at the left side of the pool as you look out at the Bay. This is a quiet area with a two seater swing seat on which you can gently rock as you gaze at the lights of the town, lighting up below twinkling around the edge of the Bay, and also view the clear starlit sky, all above and around you. Wonderful ...
POOL - Private
Manzara has its own private pool
The private pool has a deeper end of 2m and the shallowest end of 1.6m. There is a poolside shower for washing off to the side of The View's private pool.
Beyond Manzara's private pool are yet more wonderful views of the Bay outlined by two large palm trees and a long glass mid level screen running the full length of the pool and beyond to ensure the view is not affected, giving an infinity style outlook. Swing seats, hammocks and 6 high quality beds are situated around the pool (there are 6 further sun loungers also dotted around the villa),. The pool enjoys full sun for most of the day with limited shading in the mid and late afternoon, which guests have seen as a bonus, particularly in the heat of the summer. The sea breezes which occur throughout the summer period are a welcome break from the heat and make the evenings very pleasant, with humidity typically remains quite low.
Stone walls, full wooden gates and beautiful deep and light pink white and salmon bougainvillea provide privacy all round. The extensive, but subtle, outside lighting and blue pool lights make for a magical effect at dusk and into the evening. Perfect for a fun time and late night swim!

More information on this area:
The Turkish Aegean Coast region
On the Bodrum Peninsula buildings are not permitted to be built more than 2 stories high, and there are no buildings higher than 3 stories in the whole Peninsula. This tends to make the area look particularly attractive. Most of the buildings are white washed cubes, similar to those in the Greek Islands. This is because this part of Turkey used to belong to Greece and some of the Greek Islands used to belong to Turkey. As you can imagine, there is a lot of history around the area.
History
Archaeological excavations have established that human habitation in the Yalikavak area began in around 2000BC, and there are ruins and artefacts from the Carian, Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman eras. The historic sites such as Sandima, Pasanda (Geris), Kandiba and Termil (Dirmil/Gökçebel) attract visitors from all over the world. Yalikavak is famous for the numerous windmills found in the vicinity. The winds, that until recently turned the vanes of these working windmills, now fill the sails of boats and windsurfs. Another “typical” feature found in abundance here are domed water cisterns which, in the past, were used in times of drought and are now being adapted for artistic and cultural uses.
A 20 minute road journey will take you to Bodrum Centre with its historic castle which was built from 1402 onwards, by the Knights of St John as the Castle of St. Peter or Petronium. The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus is also located in Bodrum town.
Ferry trips to the Greek island of Kos can be made from Turgutreis and Bodrum
Further afield you can visit Ephesus, the largest archaeological site in the world, the stunning pools at Pamukkale, the royal rock tombs at Dalyan, and the temple of Apollo at Didim.
Yalikavak
Yalikavak, 18 km away from Bodrum centre on the North Western tip of the Bodrum Peninsula, has grown in size over recent years, but remains still very much a place where the locals welcome holidaymakers with open arms. The permanent inhabitants of Yalikavak number around 6,800 people. Yalikavak is becoming ever more popular as an alternative resort to Bodrum. The small harbour is surrounded by restaurants and bars, and while there is the occasional disco bar, the general atmosphere is quiet, unhurried and relaxed, yet further along the shoreline is a new sophisticated Marina.
Approaching Yalikavak from Bodrum you cannot help but notice the stunning panoramic view of Yalikavak Bay. This fertile coastal region is ideal for sailing and all water sports and attracts many foreign yachts to the Marina and old harbour that once sheltered mainly fishing boats.
FISHING & SEAFOOD
Yalikavak still supports a thriving fishing industry and the restaurants around the picturesque harbour and marina display a wide selection of fresh fish every day. The town is known for its excellent seafood restaurants - try Sait, you won't be disappointed.
RESTAURANTS
Yalikavak has a huge selection of restaurants to suit all tastes.
SHOPPING AND WEEKLY VENDOR'S MARKET
There are many shops in the traffic free centre, selling local wares and tourist items.
Every Thursday there is a colourful weekly market split in 2 halves. Clothes, textiles and traditional Turkish wares on one side, and the other with fruit, vegetables, great choices of olives, herbs and spices.
MARINA (Palmarina)
Just a few minutes walk along the shoreline from the centre of Yalikvak is the new Marina. The Marina is home to many large yachts and is visited by yachts from all over the world in summer. It has stylish shops and several restaurants and cafes, plus a seaside 2,500 seater Amphitheatre used for open air concerts and fashion shows during the summer months.
BEACHES
The main beach in Yalikavak is long and narrow and lined with a few restaurants. It is easy to sit back and not worry where your next drink or meal will come from! Yalikavak's beach is never busy and you won't be sandwhiched in amongst sun loungers. Away from the harbour end of town, the quieter the beach becomes. Yalikavak is always said to be a little cooler in the summer than other parts of the region due to the gentle offshore breezes. Whereas Bodrum is hot, in all respects, in summer.
Yalikavak is renowned for its superb sunsets and unspoilt shoreline. Its sparkling clean sea is one of the few remaining abodes of the endangered “Monachus Monachus” Mediterranean seals and therefore a protected area. In 2002 Yalikavak Bay was awarded the "Blue Flag" for its clean waters.
Yalikavak has supermarkets, banks, ATMs, Taxi ranks, bus station, petrol stations etc.
A car is advised for this location but no absolutely necessary as Yalikavak is walkable and the dolmus (public transport minibus) runs along the road below the villa.

Guest Feedback for holidays at Villa Manzara
A great week at Villa Manzara | June/July 2023
We had a great week at Villa Manzara, Villa is well maintained and clean, perfectly located, and the view from every corner of the Villa is a breath taking at all time of the day, big thanks to Annie for making the booking process very simple and arranging the booking in a very professional way, and following up if everything is going well.
Ahmet, Villa manager, is simply a great guy, he was always available to help us with a smile on his face, huge thanks to Ahmet for the lovely stay at Villa Manzara

Magical Villa | August 2022
Wow words can not describe the villa. The villa was in stunning location, the views from every room were like a postcard.
The villa was lovely and clean and we had a little welcome pack on our arrival, which was very handy.
We will be returning to the villa next year and would highly recommend it. Also a huge thank you to Annie and all of the team, you were all very professional and always on hand for advice. Thank you once again.

Great atmosphere | August 2022
Great atmosphere, beautiful villa and everything clean. Stay Villa Manzara from 08/07/2022 to 08/29/2022. I definitely recommend Villa Manzara in Bodrum Yalikavak because the view and atmosphere is unique. Marina Yalikavak is only a 5-minute drive away. The marina can also be easily reached on foot in 35 minutes. From the villa you can walk to the beach in 5 minutes, where you can spend wonderful hours. Since the villa has a private pool, it is very nice to be in the private pool first thing in the morning. Yalikavak is very popular. I rented the villa through Annie, which went off without any problems. She was always interested in making us feel comfortable and in good hands in the villa. During our stay she often asked if everything was ok. Like last year, our holiday at Villa Manzara was breathtaking. On site, Mr. Ahmet and Mrs. Fikriye were our contacts. Every wish was immediately fulfilled and nothing was missing. We would like to say a big thank you to Annie, Ahmet and Fikriye. Support before and during a rental is very important to us. We appreciate that very much, as many villas are simply rented out, but there is no local contact person for the smallest problems or inquiries. This is not the case with Villa Manzara, as Mr. Ahmet and Ms. Fikriye always ask regularly. It was a wonderful 22 days that we enjoyed from the first to the last day.

Highly recommended for families | July 2022
We stayed from June 28 to July 12, 2022, family of 6. All adults. The villa is clean, spacious, as advertised, no surprises. Sea view 180 degree, lots of outdoor terraces and sitting areas, clean, well maintained. We would go back for sure. Booking experience is 5 stars. Annie is 6 stars, she made the whole process simple. Highly recommended for families, swimming pool is great, clean. Bbq area is amazing. Villa manager (Ahmet) is first class, he made himself available 24/7. Great value for money.

5 stars for Villa Manzara and Peninsula | June 2022
After two years of cancellations due to travel restrictions and Covid my family of 6 adults and I (along with the new addition of our 6 month old ) got along to Yalikavak to stay at Villa Manzara.
The booking process and the help received from Annie for rolling over the bookings were totally seamless.
I recommend you hire a car as the villa is about an hour from the airport. We were met near the villa and driven to it by the friendly local manager Ahmet.
Once at the Villa we were totally overwhelmed. The photographs on the website, though very pleasing, really don’t do the villa justice.
Three decent sized rooms and one smaller spread over three levels were ample space for my family of 7. The kitchen was stocked out with all the facilities needed (cooker, oven, microwave, kettle, coffee machine etc.) Pool was great and well sized. Chill out areas around the villa were numerous. Then the views. They are to die for.
In terms of the local area the villa is about a 6 min drive to the Yalikavak Marina which is probably one of the best I have been to. All the high end designers are there and top notch restaurants. They will break the bank though. So if you walk just outside the marina there are many good value restaurants.
Annie’s recommendations for restaurants were very much enjoyed. The villa is ideally situated.
So overall. We were very satisfied with Peninsula Villas and Villa Manzara which is a credit to its owner.
We will be using both again I hope !

Amazing views of Yalikavak, the Marina, the bay, coastline and the Aegean sea | June 2022
Beautiful Villa, well equipped with lovely pool, spacious rooms and bedrooms and amazing views of Yalikavak, the Marina, the bay, coastline and the Aegean sea. Lots of outdoor seating all around the villa which offers a variety of options from sheltered to shaded to full sun. The cooling sea breeze on the raised terraces was an added bonus if you want to take time away from the warm sunny pool area.

The villa was lovely. We had a wonderful time| April 2022
We had a wonderful time thank you. 😊 The villa was lovely. We loved all the different seating areas, very well thought of. Ahmet was great. He followed each request with a message checking all was OK. We saw him one evening down by the harbour & on asking he recommended where we should eat that night.
Your communications have been great also, thank you, it has certainly been a pleasant experience and we will definitely be recommending you.
Many thanks for everything.

Very Nice Villa, A Lovely Break| Sept/Oct 2020
Hi Annie, Yes back now unfortunately. Was a lovely break and the villa is very nice.
Met with Ahmet on arrival and he was very helpful and attentive, even helped me get my car sorted out before returning back to Istanbul. No issues with the villa that I can think of, couple of light switches not working (we weren't using those rooms anyway), and the mosquito netting was loose on some doors most likely from general wear and tear but mentioned this to Ahmet when leaving and he was going to take care of it.
I can't think of anything else really as the villa was very nicely equipped.

Perfect Sea View| August 2020
We’ve had our vacation in August 2020, there were 2 families with 3 children in each. Enough space for everyone both inside and outside. The best thing of this villa is a perfect sea view which you have out of each spot within the villa. All the arrangements, requests were dealt with promptly by the villa manager - Ahmet! He's been very kind and caring! We were proposed to have a boat trip-it was amazing-very soulful, tasty food, incredible jumping into the blue sea from the boat-7 hours passed very quickly. The closest public beach that is 10 min walk/3 min by car from the villa offered the best sea for swimming among other beaches and beach clubs we have visited - there is a wide range of them, all within 15-30 min by car. So the villa, the view, the location are very nice. The photos of the villa on the website reflect the reality. Thank you very much for everything! We will be back!

The Villa was Fabulous | August 2019
Dear Annie
First, thank you so much for your patience and assistance during what must have seemed like a shambolic pre-holiday period. Your efforts were very much appreciated, thank you. We would certainly recommend Peninsula Villas to others. Laura was very responsive to the couple of tiny issues we experienced (water and a faulty door handle), was extremely helpful and the villa was beautifully presented by her on our arrival.
The villa was fabulous: extremely well appointed and very well maintained. I think it is ideal for groups/extended families as there are so many hidden and beautiful outside spaces to escape the others! The views were stunning (the owners might want to put a note that there are binoculars in the bookshelf which we only found on the last morning and which would have been great for rubber-necking the gin-palaces going in and out of the marina). I’m not sure that I realised quite how far out of town it was (its 5 mins drive but a long walk). Not a problem for any of our party apart from the boys who had hoped for a little more ability to be their own bosses for a few days! If the blurb on your website doesn’t say so – we booked having seen it in the Sunday Times so I don’t think I delved very deeply on your site – I think it would be worth mentioning the walk time to the centre. Dolmus times in the blurb in the villa would also be extremely useful if they are fixed for the season. All in all, we are very sad to be back and are already missing Yalikavak!

Villa was Great Inside and Out | August 2019
Hi Annie, Thank you for the return of the damage deposit. Very prompt and well managed...just like everything associated with the holiday from booking, to enquiries to payments. You do a great job for your clients. The villa was great..lovely inside and out and very accurately portrayed in the blurb. The only odd thing, which I showed Laura, was that the sink in the undercover outdoor area by the bbq which drained straight onto the patio.
Laura was excellent, nothing too much trouble and quick to respond. So a good experience, we would recommend you to friends and thought the area was fabulous.

Villa was Amazing and very Comfortable | June 2019
Hi Annie, We had a fabulous time in Yalikavak. The villa was amazing and very comfortable. The only problem we had was when we had to come home!!
There was nothing we needed that wasn’t in the villa as it was very well equiped. The beds and linen were extemely comfortable.
We would highly recomend the villa and Peninsula Villas Bodrum and would not hesitate to book it again in the future.

Villa Manzara is by far the best villa we have stayed in | September 2018
This was by far the best villa we have stayed in. We had everything and more in terms of what was needed for us to enjoy our stay. A great deal of thought has gone into the property and we found the furnishings to be very modern and comfortable. We have already recommended the villa to friends and family.
Just a thought for the owners, we would recommend binoculars, as other villas we have stayed in have had these. They are great for viewing boats etc and the surrounding area. My husband actually bought some during our stay. Thank you so much for looking after our booking yet again, we will definitely return to this villa.

Villa Manzara is by far the best villa we have stayed in | July/Aug 2018
Hi Annie
We had a lovely time at the villa - it's a wonderful place in a spectacular location. We all absolutely loved Turkey - and the boat trip was the favourite day there. Thanks you for the recommendation. We will definitely be back at some point.

Feedback for Peninsula Villas Bodrum from Manzara's owners
THANKS TO BOTH
Hi Annie/Sara
We had a lovely meeting with Sara this morning, and while as you both know, renting would not have been out first choice, after the meeting we feel even more comfortable than we did before about the decision we have taken. More importantly we have absolutely no doubt that we have chosen the right people to take us along this path, as you have both been brilliant, and so we just wanted to say a really big thanks to you for making it all as easy as it could have been. The approach you have demonstrated has a serious intent to do the best job possible but of equal importance it has been with a smile and a bit of fun thrown in, without which it would not have worked for us. We are very happy for you to use this message or a version of it in any testimonials you put on the web site or elsewhere.
Best Regards
Manzara Owners
