About Villa Anna: PV568, Gokcebel, Yalikavak, Bodrum Peninsula

Summary: Traditional Tuscan inspired stone built holiday villa, very private, with large private pool and gardens. Sea and natural views
5 Bedrooms : 5 Bathrooms : Sleeps 6 in main house
2 Additional Guest 'Suites' : 1 bedroom :1 bathroom in each
Sleeps 10 in Total
Villa Anna is a distinctive, and very special stone built holiday home designed for summer outdoor living. It is not the typical Bodrum holiday villa, it is definitely Mediterranean/Tuscan/International style with inspiration from the Ottoman Empire and the South Seas and Somerset Maugham.

Villa Anna is a beautiful, shabby chic/eclectic, quirky private airy house in a quiet location. This is a truly unique home close to the Gokcebel village area of Yalikavak. The villa combines generous sized rooms and a traditional Mediterranean/Ottoman feel which is lacking in contemporary style holiday homes. The ambiance is 'inside out', relaxed summer living ... you will get the sounds of Summer from nature, you will get privacy and peace ...

Unlike many holiday homes in the Yalikavak area, Villa Anna was not originally intended for renting. The villa has been furnished and designed Mediterranean/Ottoman style for family use and family living, therefore you can't help but notice the Mediterranean 'warm' feeling mixed with Turkish soft furnishings. Villa Anna's English owner has opened up her home for rental guests to enjoy a truly Turkish/Tuscan laid back experience. For those looking for a super holiday home, not on the beaten track, Villa Anna offers modern living, private pool, views and privacy in peaceful surroundings and only 5 minutes away from shops, supermarkets and buzzing Yalikavak centre and its Marina.

The villa is situated in a quiet location surrounded by nature and beautiful gardens but within a very short distance of restaurants, shops, beach and harbour in lively Yalikavak. The villa can sleep 6 in the main house, it is the perfect honeymoon spot or couples location for a really private retreat. And with the guest 'cottages' in use, both sleeping an extra 2, this is the ideal venue for family reunions or groups of friends. Note: the 2 guest 'cottages' are separate buildings contained within the grounds of the villa and completely stand alone units but part of the property.

Close to Gokcebel village, Yalikavak is approx 3.1km or 6 mins drive to Yalikavak centre and Marina

Villa: 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms (sleeps 10). Very private, electric gated entrance

Location: Close to Gokcebel Village, Yalikavak, Bodrum. 3.5 km from Yalikavak Marina
Located on the hillside overlooking Gokcebel village and Yalikavak bay, the villa blends into it's natural surroundings of stone, hillside shrubs and green olive trees.
Gokcebel village is on the outskirts of Yalikavak and only a 5 minute drive to main supermarkets and less than 10 minutes to the centre of Yalikavak.
There is a country road up to the villa which has large electric gates, there is no passing traffic, except for those reaching the house further up the hill.

Exterior: Very Private Pool and Private Gardens. Sea and natural views
There is a beautiful private swimming pool, with proper steps leading into the water, set in the gardens of the villa. There are Sunbeds, deckchairs and large comfortable cushions scattered around the pool area and Yurt area. The pool terrace has both full sun and shade under a pergola and natural shade due to the mature planting around the magnificent gardens. There's a spacious terrace around the pool, which is flanked by the backdrop of the hillside and provides stunning views across the valley to Gokcebel, the creek, Yalikavak and the sea. Shaded terraces and balconies are perfect for alfresco lunches/dinners and enjoying aperitifs in the evening watching the sunset. Why not also enjoy dinner on the ground terrace with its BBQ and purpose built outside kitchen?

The whole family can enjoy the space and facilities at Villa Anna: the pool, the Yurt area, table tennis, sauna but mostly the peace, tranquility and views. The house is set in extensive mature grounds with fabulous trees, shrubs and planting. For those who enjoy home-cooking, pop over to the kitchen garden for fresh herbs and ingredients for lunch/dinner or to pop in your G&T! Guests can pick the fruits and herbs from the garden, pomegranate, lemons, avocados, lemons, figs.

On the Bodrum Peninsula buildings are not permitted to be built more than 2 stories high, and there are no buildings higher than 3 stories in the whole Peninsula. This tends to make the area look particularly attractive. Most of the buildings are white washed cubes, similar to those in the Greek Islands. This is because this part of Turkey used to belong to Greece and some of the Greek Islands used to belong to Turkey. As you can imagine, there is a lot of history around the area.

History
Archaeological excavations have established that human habitation in the Yalikavak area began in around 2000BC, and there are ruins and artefacts from the Carian, Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman eras. The historic sites such as Sandima, Pasanda (Geris), Kandiba and Termil (Dirmil/Gökçebel) attract visitors from all over the world. Yalikavak is famous for the numerous windmills found in the vicinity. The winds, that until recently turned the vanes of these working windmills, now fill the sails of boats and windsurfs. Another “typical” feature found in abundance here are domed water cisterns which, in the past, were used in times of drought and are now being adapted for artistic and cultural uses.

A 20 minute road journey will take you to Bodrum Centre with its historic castle which was built from 1402 onwards, by the Knights of St John as the Castle of St. Peter or Petronium. The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus is also located in Bodrum town.

Ferry trips to the Greek island of Kos can be made from Turgutreis and Bodrum
Further afield you can visit Ephesus, the largest archaeological site in the world, the stunning pools at Pamukkale, the royal rock tombs at Dalyan, and the temple of Apollo at Didim.

Yalikavak
Yalikavak's town centre has retained its traditional Turkish charm. With its simple but stylish laid back atmosphere and friendly welcoming locals, this is its main attraction and the reason why holidaymakers return to the area year after year. Along the coast road en-route from the villa to Yalikavak you will pass some of the best fish restaurants on the Bodrum Peninsula huddled together in their own 'fish restaurant village' area. A couple of minutes further on takes you to Yalikavak's fashionable new Marina (Palmarina) with super yachts, gullets and sail boats visiting from all around the world. The Marina is home to smart shops, bars, restaurants and a beach club which hosts open air concerts during high summer.

The centre of Bodrum is less than 20 minutes from here with its own smart Marina, town centre shops and, of course, the famous Bodrum Castle. Bodrum town has fabulous shops in the Marina area and also along the narrow streets of the old town near the Castle. At night, the Marina has open air live music starting at 10pm until the early hours nightly during high summer.

Yalikavak has supermarkets, banks, ATMs, Taxi ranks, bus station, petrol stations etc.

A car is essential for this location. The dolmus (public transport minibus) runs along the main road from Yalikavak to Gundogan, this is near the Migros supermarket (which is 1km, 5 mins drive away).

Distances: Bodrum town is 15 mins drive; Yalikavak is 5 mins drive, Gundogan is 10 mins drive and Gumusluk fishing village and harbour restaurants are 20 mins drive in the opposite direction

Turgutreis is 25 mins drive : Nearest supermarket, Migros, 1.5km - 5 min drive

Guest Feedback for holidays at Villa Anna

Loved everything about Villa Anna| June 2023
We loved everything about the villa. It has amazing vibes, spectacular scenery and is very comfortable and relaxing to live in. It’s so pretty and has such a character, I felt like I was in a movie set! I’ve never been in a house like that. And you can tell every detail in the house is very well thought out. The furniture is so unique, the outside lounge areas are beautiful and the pool is fantastic.
I cannot begin to describe how amazing Fehime is! She took such good care of us and of the house. Her breakfasts were out of this world! We did not go out for breakfast a single day we were there! The breakfast she makes is better than any breakfast you can have in any restaurant.
The service we received from Annie was exquisite, to say the least. Annie pulled a miracle by finding us such a beautiful house, on such a short notice, in peak season. I contacted her a week before travel date and she really worked hard to find us Villa Anna and was very understanding when I had to update plans and look for one more villa 2 days before the travel date because more family members joined the trip.

Great stay at Villa Anna | July 2022
We stayed in the villa for two weeks during July 2022 and enjoyed the villa with its great location, facilities, and service. Lovely outdoor pool and garden. Charming rooms with a lot of authentic design. Spacious living/dining areas. Carley the villa manager was great help and always reachable as well as Fahime and her husband who took good care of us. This is our 6th villa that we rent in Bodrum through “Peninsula Villas Bodrum” as we trust and enjoy the experience with Annie and her team.
Thank you Annie and Carley, can’t wait till next year 😉
