LOCATION: Gumuskaya, Yalikavak, Bodrum Peninsula.
Located on a development of villas and other smaller villas (which use a shared pool). Villa Mied is a front line villa with the other properties behind, located at picturesque Gumuskaya which is approx 8 mins drive to Yalikavak in one direction and 10/15 to Gumusluk in the other. The larger town of Turgutreis is approx 15/20 mins the other side of Gumusluk.
Just 45 minutes drive from Bodrum Milas International Airport and between 8 minutes to Yalikavak Marina and town centre. Bodrum town centre is a quick 15/20 minute drive, Gundogan bay aprox 15/20 mins. Other Peninsula towns all approx 10/15 mins drive from each other.

The Turkish Aegean Coast Region
On the Bodrum Peninsula buildings are not permitted to be built more than 2 stories high, and there are no buildings higher than 3 stories in the whole Peninsula. This tends to make the area look particularly attractive. Most of the buildings are white washed cubes, similar to those in the Greek Islands. This is because this part of Turkey used to belong to Greece and some of the Greek Islands used to belong to Turkey. As you can imagine, there is a lot of history around the area.
History
Archaeological excavations have established that human habitation in the Yalikavak area began in around 2000BC, and there are ruins and artefacts from the Carian, Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman eras. The historic sites such as Sandima, Pasanda (Geris), Kandiba and Termil (Dirmil/Gökçebel) attract visitors from all over the world. Yalikavak is famous for the numerous windmills found in the vicinity. The winds, that until recently turned the vanes of these working windmills, now fill the sails of boats and windsurfs. Another “typical” feature found in abundance here are domed water cisterns which, in the past, were used in times of drought and are now being adapted for artistic and cultural uses.
A 20 minute road journey will take you to Bodrum Centre with its historic castle which was built from 1402 onwards, by the Knights of St John as the Castle of St. Peter or Petronium. The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus is also located in Bodrum town.
Ferry trips to the Greek island of Kos can be made from Turgutreis and Bodrum
Further afield you can visit Ephesus, the largest archaeological site in the world, the stunning pools at Pamukkale, the royal rock tombs at Dalyan, and the temple of Apollo at Didim.
Yalikavak
Yalikavak's town centre has retained its traditional Turkish charm. With its simple but stylish laid back atmosphere and friendly welcoming locals, this is its main attraction and the reason why holidaymakers return to the area year after year. Along the coast road en-route from the villa to Yalikavak you will pass some of the best fish restaurants on the Bodrum Peninsula huddled together in their own 'fish restaurant village' area. A couple of minutes further on takes you to Yalikavak's fashionable new Marina (Palmarina) with super yachts, gullets and sail boats visiting from all around the world. The Marina is home to smart shops, bars, restaurants and a beach club which hosts open air concerts during high summer.
The centre of Bodrum is less than 20 minutes from here with its own smart Marina, town centre shops and, of course, the famous Bodrum Castle. Bodrum town has fabulous shops in the Marina area and also along the narrow streets of the old town near the Castle. At night, the Marina has open air live music starting at 10pm until the early hours nightly during high summer.
Yalikavak has supermarkets, banks, ATMs, Taxi ranks, bus station, petrol stations etc.
A car is not absolutely necessary for this location but advised. The dolmus (public transport minibus) runs along the roads close by the villa then a short walk.
Distances: Bodrum town is 15 mins; Yalikavak is a 5/10 minute walk drive; Gundogan bay is 15 mins drive; Gumusluk fishing village and harbour restaurants are 15 mins drive in the opposite direction
Turgutreis is 20/25 mins drive
Nearest supermarkets: less than a 5 minute drive takes you to Migros at Koyunbaba. Yalikavak's Thursday vendor's market selling fresh local produce is a 5 minute drive

I am currently staying at Belle Vue, Bodrum with my family. We are really happy with the villa and have no complaints. It is very clean, well furnished and the views out to sea and the islands in the distance are amazing. Booking with Annie at peninsulavillasbodrum was easy, she is very helpful and organised. Carley, our villa manager, met us on arrival and showed us around, she is also very helpful.
Yalikavak is a short drive away and there we find lots of cafes, restaurants and a beautiful marina. We would certainly recommend peninsulavillasbodrum to our friends and hope to return again another time.

Great Villa for family holidays | July 2022
Belle Vue villa has an amazing view! It is very cozy, has 3 levels, and several spots to enjoy the sunset. The furniture is in good condition, house is fully equipped with everything you might need. Villa is decorated, which makes the feeling of home. Pool is big enough and deep. The location of villa is convenient, taxi drivers easily find the address, Yalikavak Marina and city center is just in 7 minutes drive. It was my first experience in rental villa, and I didn't regret. Annie helped me to choose the right villa upon my request. It was obvious that she know every villa she offers, and give her own review. Annie gave me all important information about restaurants and beaches, which was very helpful. Carley, the manager of villa, did everything to make our stay comfortable. I asked her to arrange a private chef for us a few times, and additional cleaning. She arranged everything, and supervised the cleaning. Yalikavak is an amazing place! We want to be back here next year. And for sure we will ask Annie to help.

Villa does have a lovely view.
The pool is a bit larger and most importantly deeper, which was great.
The furniture was clearly new.
Villa development is close to the police station, so there were no worries about security.
To sum up, it was a good holiday, weather was fine, Villa was fine
